Spring Thaw is done :)

Spring Thaw is over now, back to normal life.

Cherie and Sarabeth came up from Ecola for the Phil/Leeland concert, it was superb!

We're now getting more settled into the new studio apartment, house warming party coming soon! A lot more job opportunities have come up now, and I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I'm going at them full force!

Looks like Hawaii is on hold for now, as Casey is unsure of his dad's health and with the next Pater coming into the world this summer it's best for us all to wait.

Stephen and I have started praying about a position that has opened up at our neighbors church for their old youth pastor position when they graduate this may and head back up to Alaska. They really want us to apply, but Stephen and I aren't sure if we're really ready yet, and I don't want to burn out and fail these kids. But at the same time, I would be so excited to start putting to use all of this amazing stuff I'm learning in the Youth min program. So we'll see where God puts us :)

Spring Thaw 2010

So right now Phen and I are both at Multnomah University (school of the bible) and we're both trying to stay in school, which is a bit difficult to do.

I'm double majoring in Youth Ministry, something I've recently started honed in on as a passion of mine. This year of youth min classes with our amazing program directer, Rob Hildebrand, have been getting me so excited for so many reasons.
-Just wanting to work with youth in general
-And fully understanding my life to be nothing but for the kingdom.

Our program got a huge grant to work with, and we decided last fall to host a high school retreat with it on campus.

Our class brainstormed for all the attractions we initially wanted to try and use to draw kids attention, an awesome concert (where we got Phil Wickham and Leeland!), things like the x-bus (a bus with 16 xbox360's hooked up together), a paintball scenario (the crack house dealers vs swat), and a huge zombie apocalypse game!(non gory salt depleted swine flue zombies)

Since then we've been working super hard, forming teams, signing up volunteers, websites, concessions, pink mist lounge (karaoke, bands, ice cream and widmere rootbeer from tap), a henna hut for the girls, soccer tournaments, an amazing guest speaker from Canada, and some Profs who gave their time to hold small sessions on theology, world views and much more.

All day thursday and friday we have been preparing non stop for these kids, signs, balloons, decor, building, cleaning etc. And fighting off a cold!

It finally came, and as I stood at the entrance to multnomah with Stephen and a bunch of other friends, cheering all the church vans in, my desire for youth sprang forth again!

Worship with Josh White (from Telecast and the church, Door of hope) was renewing, and though my legs were starting to pain me, I still had about 65 zombies to coordinate and a make up crew to run.

All in all, I loved serving with my husband, and I was so glad I was not in highschool, cause this game would have freaked me out.
